TPN RentBay provides many ways for a tenant to search for a home. Importantly, TPN RentBay does not
restrict your search only to the suburb you choose, but does clever matching to search for properties in the surrounding
suburbs as well. This means that instead of having to know the names of every suburb in an area, you only have to input
the cental suburb and all matching properties will be returned.
You can look for a property using any of the search methods listed below: |
| |
Method 1: Quick Search |
| This search method allows you to type the name (or part thereof) of a suburb into a textbox provided.
A list of potential suburbs is automatically populated and you can select which suburb you would like to search from the
list provided. Click here to go to the quick search page. |
| Method 2: Interactive Map Search |
| The map search allows you to use your mouse to navigate a map of South Africa. As you zoom in on the
map, the database is automatically searched for properties which are located in the visible area. If less than 200 properties
are located, the properties are displayed in a list below the map.

| Method 3: Postal Code Search |
| The search allows you to search for a suburb using a postal code. The properties listed in that suburb and surrounding
suburbs will be displayed in the search results.

| Method 4: Advert ID Search |
| The search allows you to locate an advert by using an existing TPN RentBay Advert id. This search will only be useful
to you if you have recorded the id of an advert which has been placed on the system.
Click here to go to the advert id search page. |
| Method 5: Province / City / Suburb Search |
| The search method duplicates the way that most property websites allow you to search. TPN RentBay has added this
functionality for users who feel comfortable with this method of searching, but does not recommend that this option is utilized.

| Why is the suburb I have entered not recognised? |
| If you have typed the full name of the suburb and no results come up, it's possible that the name
has been spelt incorrectly. To get around any spelling mistakes, the property field uses predictive text so that you
only need to type the first three letters of a suburb which will show you suggestions of suburbs and cities. You can
then choose the correct location from the list by scrolling down the list and selecting one suburb at a time. |
| |
| How do I further refine my search results? |
| You can refine your search further by choosing a minimum and maximum rental, or how many bedrooms and bathrooms you're looking for.
Any selections you make this way will instantly reduce the list of search results displayed. |
